North Banks Restaurant and Raw Bar!
Right in the heart of Corolla North Carolina lies a gem called North Banks Restaurant and Raw Bar.

Although small in size, it packs a punch that is sure to compete with even the heavyweights in the area.
The bar lines the entire wall, staffed to the brim with friendly and helpful staff members . One interesting thing that I noticed, is with raw bar in the name, they actually shuck the oysters right there, behind the bar!

In addition to the fresh seafood, a quaint selection of local craft beers, and domestics alike snuck in the rear bar.

The menu was surprisingly large, considering the size of the establishment. You could probably put a different offering on each table in the restaurant, and still have your hands full looking for more room.
I started out with the crab dip, served with fresh sliced crustinis.

For only around $10, I was pleasantly surprised for the amount of fresh crab involved in this situation. Creamy, sweet, and decadent perfectly described this treat. The portion was plentiful, and the quality was superb, a wonderful start to the meal.
I decided to get a combination, they offered shrimp, scallops, and snapper all on the same plate, lightly fried, served with a lemon dill, and cocktail sauce, all for $28

The plate was absolutely brimming with food. The two pieces of snapper were massive, the shrimp were massive, and the scallops were plump. The breading on the outside was crisp, yet not too thick. When I broke into the snapper, I was greeted by pure white, buttery tasting, sweet meat.

All and all, the restaurant was cozy, the food was fresh, and the staff were exceptional. There are surely places to eat in Corolla that won’t cost as much, but when you’re at a beach town, relaxing with family, to experience the atmosphere, with the fresh seafood, and local beers, it’s worth every penny.
