Lucky Beaver Grill and Burger – Food Review
Our journey takes us to the beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada err.. California, or both, however you look at it. It is smack dab on state line, so pick whatever one you’d like, because both are correct, kinda.
Anyways, while playing Craps til’ my hearts content at Harrahs, it was suggested that I bring myself to Lucky Beaver Bar and Burger to feast. They told me “it will be the best burger you’ve ever had” wow, quite a claim, so I had no choice but to go.

Before you even enter the establishment, you are greeted by the warm welcome of flaming grill with sizzling beef rotating like a merry-go-round from a dream. At night, this grill illuminates the sidewalk staking it’s claim on the street for all to see, a beautiful sight.

After stepping inside, the walls are lined with photos of celebrities, and other notable characters that have indulged in the deliciousness of Lucky Beaver. This treatment is just like what you’d see at the most infamous spots, like The Carnegie Deli, so we must be someplace special.

We were here to Gamble, so it made perfect sense to order “The Gambler” a cheeseburger made with a special blend of chuck and brisket, yes that’s right, they put BRISKET into their cheeseburgers. If you opt for the aged burger, it includes the aforementioned mix, with the generous addition of beef short rib. The Gambler comes with the topping you can see, so in addition to the name, it seemed like a phenomenal choice.

The burger arrived in a basket of fries or rings, and my goodness, was the burger thick and juicy. I bit into the beast and the savory, buttery flavor of brisket and ground chuck, filled my mouth with the sweetness of a candy bar, absolutely amazing.

As you can see, the burger was grilled to a perfect medium, on that wonderful rotating grill we saw earlier. The outside had crispy char marks, while leaving the inside melty, buttery and tender, perfection at it’s finest.
For the price of $14, in a destination city such as Lake Tahoe, and for the insanely delicious quality, this burger is second to none. The beef was incredible, the variance of flavors from incorporating brisket into a burger was both unique and flavorful. Overall this was one of the BEST burgers I have ever had in my life, and I have had plenty.
If you are ever in Lake Tahoe, look for this sign, because it will be a trip worth your while. Lucky Beaver Bar & Burgers, 10/10
