Phillips Seafood – Fish n’ Chips Review!
Fish n’ Chips is a classic, simple, yet generally delicious fare that is sure to please. On a layover at Charlotte Airport, I found myself eye to eye with a Phillips Seafood; I had heard the name, but I have never tasted the taste. That changed today.
Browsing the menu I landed on my tried and true, the Fish n’ Chips. a few short minutes later the plate arrived:

Surprisingly, the cod had been “chunked” into three pieces as opposed to the large lengthy filet I was accustomed to. The waffle fries were VERY crispy, tender in the middle, and well seasoned, a perfect compliment. The coleslaw was crunchy, and sweet. One of my largest concerns surrounding coleslaw is when it is simply not fresh. It sits around stewing in it’s own juices and essentially becomes creamy sauerkraut, not ideal.
The fish itself was flaky, tender, juicy, and has no fishy taste at all. The bater on the outside lended a wonderful crisp. Overall a very satisfying experience.

The total meal, including coleslaw, waffle fries, and three hearty chunks of fish, came to shy of $20. Considering where we were, in a large airport at a name brand restaurant, not too shabby.
Phillips Fish n’ Chips. 9/10
